Alexa is a young adult struggling to find her place in life. She works for the FBI, pretending to be psychic when, in reality, she’s a powerful witch. Hiding who she really is doesn’t make her many friends. All she wants to do is help those in need, but it’s a toxic workplace, and her coworkers hate her. Tensions continue to rise no matter how many impossible tasks she completes.
Things at home aren’t any better for Alexa. The enigmatic fae have taken an interest in her again, and problems arise when she tries to learn about her past. Their confusing view of morality compounds the situation, putting her life in danger. Add this to the demon-worshiping cult still hunting her, the vampire’s great game, and the church’s apparent lack of trust, and Alexa finds the added stress almost too much to bear.
But Alexa’s real fear isn’t that her magical world is dangerous or that her life is on the line. It’s screwing up her relationship with the only one she can trust.
